Im Trying My Best to Get To The Beach
I'm sitting here on a beautiful morning Saturday
and finding myself completely focused not on writing to you,
but on how beautiful the lake looks and how I really want
to go outside and begin to soak up the sun! But I realized
I have all day to pretty much sit in the lake, and I've been
wanting to write to you for several days now and the weather
just keeps getting more beautiful each day. In that the weather
has been behaving is a good thing, however it doesn't lend
itself for me to be doing much in the way of writing to you
guys. So I made of my mind, or actually Herman convinced me
to commit to doing this right now this morning before I go
soak up the sun.
I know I've told you about our new kitten,
Sally. She is now ten weeks old and pretty much getting herself
into everything. The reason I tell you this is because she
just try to jump up on a file cabinet that sits directly to
my right. And the thing is, she missed her mark by about five
inches. No I take that back-she did manage to get her front
paws onto the file cabinet, but only long enough to pretty
much hang off for about five seconds before she fell off.
Now she has redeemed herself by climbing into a potted plant
and from there she has managed to jump down onto the file
cabinets. What I'm finding====--jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj
Sally just contributed to the column just
then by hopping on the keyboard and hitting "js".
She evidently felt that putting in all those letters was important
and I felt you guys should experience kittendom along with
Its now Tuesday evening and Sally has
just tried to attack the potted plant which was sitting on
a piece of lace on a file cabinet directly to the right of
the desk I am writing to you from. The vase is ceramic, and
Im happy to report that it didnt break when she
tried to climb up the lace doily on which it sat, thus pulling
down potted plant and all. Thankfully it also missed her and
hopefully scared her enough where she wont attempt it
The plant, on the other hand, has not looked
good ever since. Though my aide tells me the leaves can be
trimmed back and it should rebound.
Im learning all sorts of new stuff everyday
from Sally. Just last week she was on the second floor, the
balcony to be specific, when she lost her footing and fell
ten feet! It certainly startled all that were watching helplessly
from across the room. She limped around for a little while
and hopefully she wont attempt THAT again!
So just like that, the words came spilling
out of my mouth, and I can now finally go outside. Im
sure there will be more kitten stories ahead, but for right
now, the sun, sand and lake are calling, so I bid you adieu.
